Card Tutorial at Frosted Designs

It was my turn to do a tutorial on the Frosted Designs Blog this Sunday, and with Christmas coming  up I decided to do a tutorial for a neat "Step Style" Card.
This is the finished product:

I love this card - so vintage style, which I love!  The paper and card are VERY old October Afternoon - from my stash.  I tried to make a pact with myself to use up my older Christmas stuff this year and not buy much new stuff.  Of course, I haven't done very well on the not buying front, but I am trying to use up the old...lol...
The "25" and the gorgeous Snowflakes, though are from Pink Paislee Sidewalks - which can be found at Anna's Craft Cupboard here.

Now, here is the tutorial:

Credit paid where credit is due, I got the idea from a You-Tube Demonstration here.

1.  Cut a piece of cardstock 81/2" x 51/2"

2.  Score at 41/4" - right across the centre o the cardstock.

3.  Start at 3 and 1/2 inches lengthwise, and cut a line between 11/4" and 61/4".

4.  Score 4 lines, starting from the cut and going to the edge of the cardstock.  You need to score at 11/4", 21/4, 31/4" and 61/4".

5. Now, concertina - fold the cardstock to make this base:

6.  Repeat Steps 1-5 with your chosen patterned paper.  When I was finished I trimmed a tiny amount from around the edge to make some of the white cardstock peak through.

7.  Match the folds in the paper to the folds in the cardstock, and use Double Sided Tape to join the two together - put tape on all the edges and at all the folds to make it sit nicely.

8.  Decorate as decided - you can put an extra piece of cardstock on the back "step" of the card.  I used an October Afternoon Trading Card (it's about 3 years old!) instead.  I also used OA paper - from last Christmas, Cream ribbon and some Pink Paislee City Sidewalks Snowflakes and Diecut "25."

See? Easy as!
Hope you all have an amazing week!

Shabby Prima Goodness

This month, Anna from Anna's Craft Cupboard sent me some Prima Tea Thyme goodies to play with in my DT Kit.
Have to say, I loooooove all things Prima and was delighted with her choice!
These papers are so pretty and just scream Shabby Chic, so here are my creations:

This picture is a little damaged, but it doesn't take away from my VERY cute niece Paige.  She is a teenager now, so Auntie Nique is starting to feel rather old...lol..
Here is a close-up:
I've also used some Prima Resins, some Prima Flowers and a Prima Crystal Swirl.  That gorgeous pink chandalier is a WOW Words Or Whatever Chandalier Frame  WOW1643 from the October New release.

I also created this layout of my boy:

I did this layout about his sweet, kind heart.  He really is such a kind hearted soul, and I feel so lucky to have him as my boy.
I never used to add flowers to boy layouts, but I am embracing the idea, as I think they can be used effectively in the right style and theme, what do you think about flowers on "boy" layouts?  Oh dear, I may have opened a can of worms here!  LOL!
Here is a close up, once again, I've used Prima Tea Thyme, and some Prima Flowers on this
layout.
Keep your eye out on the Anna's Craft Cupboard Blog, as I've also done a StepxStep using this beautiful range.
Bye!

I also LOVED the 12x12 Holly and Berry Large Altamatz - ALTA060

Carta Bella Christmas Day

Last month, I got a beautiful Carta Bella Christmas Day kit in my DT kit from Anna at Anna's Craft Cupboard.  It is a stunning range of papers, they are a beautiful texture and weight, and the entire range comes in gorgeous coordinating "traditional" Christmas colours.
This is what I did with them:

Special Moments

I chose to go with the gold and cream colours in the range to creat this layout.  I used a Martha Stewart punch to punch aroung the paper first, then layered it on cardstock and other paper.  I added some ribbon, and also a flower cluster at the top with some coordinating chipboard from my kit.  The title is made from a WOW/ACC Exculusive Wordlet - Moments, which I simply painted in some Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam - Golden Goddess.  The bling swirls are Prima Swirls.

Here are some close ups:

Here is the next layout I created:

Santa Came

I adored the beatiful "bird" embellishments in this range, and just had to feature them in one of my layouts. So, I used them in this layout I did about Connor and his favourite Christmas toy last year.  I used some co-ordinating stickers from the sticker sheet in the Carta Bella paper kit, and some Kaisercraft and Prima Flowers.  The title came from some coordinating thickers in my DT Kit, which I liked so much I think I'll have to get another pack for myself!

Here are the cose - ups:

I don't know about you, but Christmas for me is not only a time of giving and receiving gifts, it is a time of be thankful for the things in my life that God has given me. I love the quote "There is no greater gift at Christmas to have everything you want before you open the presents"  I am so very thankful for these two special men:

Some Gifts

I actually used some Kraft cardstock as a base, then I sprayed with some Glimmermist - Plum Pudding, and then randomly stamped some script using a Tim Holtz stamp and some Stazon Ink - in Timber Brown.
I also used some Prima Flowers, Vines and some Manor House Creations flowers on this layout.
Here are the close - ups.

Well, what do you think?  I've also created some cards and tags, but they  haven't gone up on the ACC blog yet, so I will hold off sharing them here.
Have a lovely Sunday everyone!

Look who's sponsoring...

The Fabulous Friday Challenge on the Frosted Designs Site this week?
Yep - WOW, Words Or Whatever.
The prize is 10 Pieces of Chipboard of Your Choice.  How cool is that prize?  I'd have trouble sticking to 10 though..lol..

This week you have to base your layouts on this sketch:

Now I just loved this sketch, I instantly knew it was perfectly suited to my style, and I couldn't wait to get started on it.
This is what I came up with, using Kaisercraft Pickled Pear Range.

I have also added this WOW Words or Whatever Small Chainlink Fence Panel WOW1520.  I inked it in Distress Stain, Black Soot.

Here are some close ups:

Are you going to try this challenge this week?  I think you should give it a try - the prize is amazing!!
Cheers :)

Finally!

I am getting around to scrapping our wedding pictures.  I know, slack hey?
The thing is, we went really really budget style when we got married, it didn't really bother either of us if we didn't have a fancy wedding.
We got married on the beach at Dolphin Heads here in Mackay, about two weeks after we moved here.
Anyways, our photography consisted of handing out disposable cameras to all our guests, and they were asked to photograph things for us, then we got them all developed, and we were lucky enough to get a few nice photographs out of the lot.
BUT, they still had that whole "Disposable Camera" look and feel to them, so I didn't really bother about them much.
Connor has been asking about our wedding for a while - he is, of course, very curious to learn about the course of events that led to his existence.
So, I scanned the photos I like the best, and I've done a fair bit of editting in Adobe Lightroom.  Now they are presentable, I may even get a few canvases done.
Here is the first page of my album:

One Perfect Day

I have used the beautiful Prima Firefly range, and I am sticking to that range for the whole album too, just to blend it all together.  I have used a WOW Words or Whatever Bamboo Tree WOW1611  which I painted in Perfect Pearls Interference Green.  I also used WOW Words Or Whatever Block Alphabet Uppercase C1388 which I also painted in Perfect Pearls - Interference Green.
Here are a couple of close ups:

That's it today, I'll be back tomorrow with more shares - I have some Anna's Craft Cupboard to share, plus it is Frosted Design Fabulous Friday Challenge time again.
Cheers!
