Well, This Is It...... The 50 Layout Challenge

OK, deep breath Monique......

I have decided, since I have such a massively expanding pile of scrapping goodness, not to purchase any new products until I have done 50 layouts - EEEEEEEEP!!!!

Considering I average about 3 layouts a week, that means I will have to go about 16 weeks before I buy anything. I will allow myself to stock up on adhesive etc after 20 layouts.

I HAVE to do this, I have entire ranges I have purchased, and are now about 12 months old, which I haven't even touched. Not to mention HUGE bundles of favourites, again with so many papers and embies that I think I could to the 50 layouts just with them!!! LOL

Hmmmmmm, I know it is going to be tricky, Summer CHA is just around the corner, and I know Prima - one of my faves - is starting to release its summer range, but I MUST be strong! I HAVE to be strong.......
Wish Me Luck!!! LOL!!!

On the scrappy front, I did this layout for the recent SnB Animal Magnatism Cybercrop. I didn't finish it on time though to add to the samples put forward by the rest of the talented DT members - D'oh!

The challenge was to create an animal embie to add to your layout. I made a felt lion, which I blanket stitched around the outside, the face is from the Sassafrass Lass Bungle Paper range. I love that range, it is just so bright and funky!

This is what the embie looks like up close:

This layout is the first of the 50, it is a Sketch from the talented Liz Weber on her Challenge Blog "A Page From My Sketchbook". It is a fantastic site, and her sketches are always such an inspiration. Word has it that Liz is having trouble finding enough sponsors to keep the challenge going, which is a shame....... :0(

I had a bit of fun with this layout, and grunged it up a bit.... I used Tim Holtz Crackle Paint on the cogs, and inked them, too. I even added some eyelets and some string. I even used the Tim Holtz texture hammer to hammer the brads for extra texture.... I am actually happy with this, I like doing grunge sometimes! LOL!

Just a little share of a photo now, I took this one of Connor the other day,

I have done a layout for this month's challenge. bo

The challenge is to scrap your boy/man doing something "girlie" and add in the title "Real Men/Boys don't" The inspiration was taken from the saying "Real Men Don't Eat Quiche"

I decided to scrap my little boy doing something that warms my heart every day - picking me flowers.

Here is what I came up with:

Last of all, for now at least - haha- I was lucky enough to attend a Photography/Photoshop class held be the lovely Mel from Pointshootplay. It was a fantastic day, and I learnt so much - I can't wait for the follow up class in September.

I have had a bit of a play with some of my photos - for the first time ever I actually adjusted the light and colour myself, and didn't rely totally on the automatic functions - LOL

I have deliborately desaturtated these photos - there is still a tiny hint of colour, if you look closely, haha, 'cos I have plans for a layout which I may do tomorrow, if I finish a couple more "scrappy" items on my todo list! LOL
