Ribbon Flower Tutorial

As promised I am finally back to share another layout I've created using the gorgeous Prima Marketing "En Francais" Range I got in my Guest DT pack from Handmade By Suzanne.  You can find this beauriful range here.
This is what I created - the photo is of my Mum, Linda, and her sister, Elaine - taken circa 1952 at Whitehead's studio, Ipswich.  Mum is on the right - and I really can see Connor in her face, same eyes...lol...

Here is a close up of the ribbon flowers I made - the blue one is using some of the Prima En Francais Trim, which I got in my Guest DT kit.

So, in case you are interested in how to make these flowers, I have made a little step x step:

1.  Trace around and circlular based jar on to cardstock to create some circles.

2.  Cut the circles out.

3.  Cover the circle with Double Sided Tape - jutting up against each other, but not overlapping.

4.  Trim around the circles.

5.  Start from the outside, and work the ribbon around the circle - only adhere the top half of the ribbon to add depth to the flowers

6.  Keep going, winding the ribbon around until you get to the centre.

7.  Add a centre to tidy things up a bit.

8.  Now, here is another ribbon flower - again using the Prima Trim.  This time, I've added a running stitch along the ribbon, then gathered it up before adhering it to the circle in the same manner.

9.  Once more, tidy up the centre with a nice trim, this time I used a Prima wooden button.

Well, that's it for me - hope you enjoy using your trims and ribbons to make some purty flowers!
