Tuesday Tutorial at Frosted Designs

It was my turn yesterday to host the Tuesday Tutorial over at Frosted Designs.
I decided to do a tute on the Embossed Resist Technique - a favourite of mine which I have used on a few layouts, but will have to do so again soon!
This time, to keep it simple I did a card using the technique:

I used a background stamp from Hero Arts, and some Studio Calico Mist in Hot Dog, and some Ranger Dylusion Mist in Fresh Lime and London Blue.

I have also used the bright and funky Bo Bunny Surprise! range, found here at Anna's Craft Cupboard.

If you want to see the full tutorial and give this technique a try yourself, visit the Frosted Designs Challenge Blog - here - for more information.

Thanks for popping by my blog, I hope you find some time to give this technique a go - it is so much fun to play around with!

Well Colour Me Happy!!!

Happy Tuesday Everyone!!
This month Anna sent me the gorgeous Glitz Designs "Colour Me Happy" to play with.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this range!!  The bright colours instantly bring a smile to my face, and the Black accents and Wood tones just blend so well and make it perfect for boy layouts!!
Here is one of my layouts:

I also used a Studio Calico Huey's Mask - 2 Step Stencil and sprayed the background with white mist.  I used a black and whit photo and highlighted it with the bright colours of the Glitz Designs Colour Me Happy Accessories.   I also added some star sequins and some fun and funky elements to enhance the fun theme of the layout.

Here are some close - ups:

Here is another layout, this time using the Wood tones from the range.
Once again, I used some colour embellishments to lift the layout and give it a fun tone.
Some chicken wire and paint grunged it up a bit, and I also added some chipboard from the WOW  Words or Whatever Corner Arrow Pack and covered it in Denim to add some extra texture.  My title is made from WOW/ACC Exclusive Miniture Words "Amazing" and "Boy"

Here is a close up:

Signing of for now - hope you all have a lovely day!!

It's Challenge Time!!

Hi everyone!!
It's challenge week over at the WOW - Words or Whatever blog this week.
This month it is a PUZZLE CHALLENGE - the puzzle being set by yours truely.  If you don't like it, complain to me!

Here is the puzzle - you need to use ALL of the elements of the Puzzle, PLUS a piece of WOW - Words or Whatever Chipboard.

So you have to include Hexagons, Splats, Arrows and Chevrons.  What do you think?  Willing to give it a go?

This is what I came up with, I decided these pieces were perfect for a boy layout so I did a nice grungy layout about my son, with one of my favourite photos.

Yes, he really is a ratbag - just so cheeky and full of fun.  The older he gets the worse he gets..lol...but I love him and wouldn't have it any other way!
I've used the Kaisercraft "Attitude!" collection - an oldie but a goodie - just love this range for creating grungy boy pages.

So my puzzle elements are:
  • Splats using the 6x6 Crafter's Workshop Template "Splats" and some Picket Fence Distress Stain.
  • Arrows are diecuts from the Kaisercraft "Attitude!" Collectables Pack.
  • For Hexagons, I used the WOW - Words or Whatever Chicken Wire PieceWOW1636
  • For the Chevrons I used the WOW - Words or Whatever Corner Arrow Pack WOW1626  both pieces were altered using Distress Stain in Brushed Pewter, then I added some black ink to give a hint of depth.
Here are some close - ups:

So there's the challenge folks - nice and easy if you ask me, so get creating and participate!
For more ideas and inspiration, don't forget to visit the WOW - Words or Whatever Blog to see what the rest of the DT came up with!!
That's it from me, hope you are having a lovely weekend!

Is Your Mojo Missing?

Why not try a step x step at Anna's Craft Cupboard Blog?  Personally, I love stepxsteps.  If I honestly can't be bothered thinking but ust want to create, a step by step takes all the pressure off.  Also, I get so many good ideas from stepxsteps.  Often I look at a layout and think "How on Earth did she do that?"  A step by step can help you find new techniques to add to your scrapping repertoire.
Anna has a new StepxStep posted on the blog each week.  Last week, it was my turn.  This is the layout I did.

I had so much fun with this one - used masking, gesso and inking to blend the elements together with colour.  See the flowers and the Doily?  I actually used a Tim Holtz Distress Marker to colour them.  If you want to know how, you'll just have to stop by Anna's Blog :)

I used the gorgeous Kaisercraft Suga-Pop collection, which can be found here at Anna's Craft Cupboard.  I also used a WOW - Words or Whatever Chipboard Birds With Flourish WOW1484 which I just painted with an Adironack Dabber in Lettuce.
Here are some close - ups.

That's it from me for the time being, I am still busily trying to catch up on blog posts, so I will be back.
Thanks for popping by!!

Kaisercraft Suga Pop

Anna sent me the Oh - so - sweet Kaisercraft Suga Pop range to play with last month.  It is so soft and pretty, and has some adorable images just waiting for your Easter Projects.
You can find the papers here, and the accessories here at Anna's Craft Cupboard.

Firstly, here is a layout I did of a very sweet and pretty flower girl.

I also used some Kaisercraft flowers, and this really cute Kleidoscope Butterfly Die from Memory Box Dies.  Here are some close-ups.

I then used the range to finally create a layout about Easter Hat Parade Connor participated in when he was in Kindergarten!!  He thought he was so clever in his little hat!

I really had fun with this layout - playing around with paper and piecing it together block -style on my layout.  I also used a Martha Stewart edger punch to create interest, and fussy - cut some Easter eggs from the Glossy Specialty paper in the collection.  I then mixed them altogether with Egg Diecuts from the collectables, and some fussy-cut flowers and stickers to create a little egg garden down the bottom of my page.  I used the Kleidoscope Butterfly Memory Box Die again - that die would have to be one of me go-tos lately - I just love it, so pretty!!
Here are some close-ups.

That's it for now, I do have lots more shares so I will be back!

Looking For a Challenge?

Head over to the Frosted Designs Challenge Blog.  This Week's Fabulous Friday Challenge is a Theme Challenge - "Up Up and Away."

So you can interpret this anyway you wish - the sky literally is the limit!!  So think of the sky and anything you might see in it - balloons, birds, butterflies, aeroplanes......if it flys, it can fit here!

Here is my interpretation of the challenge:

Photo is my my little great - nephew Kian, such a gorgeous little angel!!!
I have used the gorgeous Prima Divine Range of Papers - available here at Anna's Craft Cupboard. I've also used the delicious matching flowers and some of the matching chipboard.  My "Up up and away" item is the Prima Resin Bird up in the top left corner.

I've also used so of the gorgeous NEW Wow products - the "Hope" MDF scrabble word MDF027.  I just added some Tim Holtz Distress Paint in Bundled Sage.  All I did was paint it on the MDF, then I gently rubbed some off with a paper towel to give a "Distressed" look.

That's it for now, I have so much catching up to do on this blog, I will have to sit down tomorrow and schedule some more posts.
Thanks for popping by!

Sharing Time

Howdy folks!
I'm back sharing some goodness from Anna's Craft Cupboard.
Last month, Anna sent me the awsome range from My Minds Eye - Boy Crazy.  It is fantastic for boy pages.  The papers are full of bright happy colours, and the embellishments are just so darn cute!
Here is what I created:

See what I mean about the bright happy colours and the funky patterns - perfect for boys hey?
You can find the papers here and Anna's and the accessories here - and you ARE going to want the accessories, there are adorable felt elements, and the cute layered stickers just made me smile!!

Here are some close ups of those layered stickers - I used the "boy" word as part of my title.

I also did this layout too:

I fussy cut all the images from the "Gears" paper and layered the with pop dots to create a frame around the photo. It was time consuming, but I was happy with the result.  I loved all the chevron patterns in this range, and thought the colours went so well with this photo of my boy all decked out in his Australia Day get up!!  He looks so grown up in this photo, I am capturing more and more of those moments - you know, when he looks less like a "young" boy and more of an older boy...makes me a little sad "sigh"

Here are a couple of close ups of those adorable felt embellies I was talking about - the cute little rocket ship inspired my title, of course!

Well, that's it from me, I will have more shares later in the week!!

Well, it is WOW New Release Week this week, and boy oh boy are there some mega amazing products getting release this month!
I HAVE to get me some Altawords - they are awesome, and then there is also fantastic chipboard out this month - particularly for all you Project Lifers and Cardmakers out there!!
Check all the new releases out on the WOW website.
Altawords are here and the new release chipboard is here (all 5 pages of it - Suzanne HAS been busy!)

Here is the layout I created using one of the gorgeous goodies Suzanne sent me!

I used the WOW Words or Whatever Bree Flourish - WOW 1843

To alter this I used two parts of it, then painted it in Distress Paint in Peeled Paint, and added a bit of Tattered Angels Glimmermist in Luscious Lavendar.  I LOVE Distress Paint, by the way - and you can get it here at Anna's Craft Cupboard.  I have also used the stunning Prima Divine Range - which certainly lives up to its name, don't you think?  It's so pretty!!  You can get the papers at Anna's here.  However, I digress...hehe.....  here are some closeups of the flourish:
