Colour Challenge on the WOW Blog

Hi everyone!

How’s your weekend coming along?

If you are looking for a Scrappy Challenge to get your mojo flowing, pop on over to the WOW Words Or Whatever Blog and check out the new Colour Challenge there.

Here are the colours you are to use:

Graphic1 copy_thumb[3]

Here are the requirements:

  • Create a layout using the challenge colours...aqua, purple and cream, and include at least one piece of WOW chipboard.
  • Post your layout on your blog, then enter your projects via the linky supplied. Be sure to share the actual blog post address, not your home blog address.
  • There will be 2 winners. One voted on by our DT, and a random draw.
  • Remember to go to your local scrap store and grab some WOW chipboard and have a go at this months challenge.
  • Entries close Friday 14 September 2012 at midnight.

Easy peasy, right?

I must admit, I freaked out a little myself at the colour combo when I saw it.  I have a bit of an aversion to purple, and avoid scrapping with it when ever possible.  However, I remembered I had some gorgeous Basic Grey “What’s Up?”  Papers which pretty much had these colours exactly, so then I relaxed a little…lol..

This is What I came up with:

Live-All-Your-Dreams

I actually really love how this turned out, with the balloons and the cogs it has a bit of a steampunky feel to it, which is what I was hoping to achieve.

I have used WOW Altamatz 12x12  Clouds: ALTA026 to apply texture paste to the top of the layout.  I have also added WOW Chipboard WOW1568.  I used Perfect Pearl Powder, mixed with water and painted on to colour them to match my layout.  I also used WOW’s Block Alphabet Lower Case  C1389 in my title, which I painted with Ranger Paint Daubers to add colour.

Here are some close ups:

I love using Perfect Pearls on my chipboard – just look at that subtle lustre, soooooo pretty!

So don’t forget – pop on over to the WOW Blog, and add this brilliant colour challenge to your “to-do” list!  There are some great prizes on offer!

Sometimes…..

Only sometimes, mind you, I create a layout where I say “Yes, this one I like….”

This is one of those layouts.  It all came together for me on this one…..  I loved the photos, Prima Craftsman range, and of course the gorgeous WOW chipboard Cog Frame, Mini Cogs from the Mini Cog Pack, and the Cog Swirl.

I love the colours, the textures…..well, for once, everything really….

Can you also see the texture paste cogs?  I used a WOW Altamatz – Cog Border to create them.

Here is a close – up of the smaller cogs and the Cog Corner Swirl – I used Perfect Pearls on the lighter ones, and the frame and darker cog was stained in Distress stain.

Hope you all have a gorgeous Friday!!

New Release Week at WOW

Hiya!
It has been New Release Week Over on the  WOW - Words or Whatever Blog.
Here are the 3 layouts I did for the Release:

Firstly, Here is my layout "Vintage Pedal Car" with a gorgeous 12"x12" Decorative Circle Frame WOW 1575 and some of the Mini Cog Pack WOW 1568, to add a touch of Steampunk.... I've used Ranger Perfect Pearls to alter the chipboard.
Don't you love the Crate Paper Story Teller Range?  So gorgeous for Vintage layouts or bright fun layouts - so versatile!

Here is a close up:

The next layout I am sharing is one titled "King Of The Mountain." It is a photo of Connor taken recently at Black's Beach, where we spent an afternoon exploring and climbing on the rocks. I took this after Connor said "Look Mum, I'm King of the Mountain!" So of course I just had to take a picture!
I have used the Tropical Leaves Pack WOW 1571, which went pefectly with the Fancy Pants Wave Searcher paper range I used.
To give a Shabby feel to the layout I have used Distress Ink and Distress Powder on the chipboard.

Here is a close up of those gorgeous leaves:

Finally, I am sharing a vintage layout I created to show how much Connor and his Dad are alike - as babies, it is hard to tell them apart...lol.
I have used a gorgeous Decorative Clock WOW 1574, which I simply inked.

Here is a close up of that gorgeous vintage clock :

I have more details of the various chipboard pieces I used, and how I altered them, up on the WOW Words or Whatever Blog, so pop by and check my post out, and while you're there browse through the week's worth of posts by all the girls from the Design Team, there is some awesome work there!

Thanks for stopping by my blog :)
