Get Your Game On!!

Starts 28 January over at Bon's Scraps

I am new to "Game On" too, so I can't wait to find out what's in store for us!! It should be fantastic fun, with games, challenges and prizes on offer!!

Head on over to the site to find out more!!

On the scrappy front, I have been quite busy.

This layout I did for Scrapboutique's Cyber Crop. This was the Friday Speed Scrap - I find Speed Scraps so tricky, because I take forever to just pick papers, let alone make any other decisions! LOL!

I've seen on a few blogs that people are picking their "Power Word" for 2010. My power word for this year is "Balance".

I so need to balance the work/life aspect of my life, I need to balance food and excercise so I can lose weight and feel healthy, I need to balance my budget, to save $$$$$ for holidays and house renos - so heaps of balancing will be going on in my life this year!!

The next layout is one I did for a new album I am creating. I have been so lucky to get some gorgeous family photos from my Mum, so at the moment, I am scanning, saving and backing them up, and then doing layouts to show our family history to Connor. Hope he appreciates it as much as I do - even as a child I adored looking at these photos and listening to the stories my grandparents told.
This photo is from about 1916. It is my Great Nan and My Great Grandad. My Pa isn't even there - Great Nan is pregnant with him, I'm told.... That's how I've dated the photo, because Pa was born in December 1916. I just love the clothes and the hair - it in itself tells a story of our history!

Finally, this is a layout I did with the gorgeous new Pink Paislee range - gosh it is so yummy, I just had to dig out some photos and have a play!!

Well, that's it for me at the moment, thanks for popping by and checking out my blog!!

Holiday Snaps

As promised, here are some holiday snaps I took whilst away.
Here is Connor playing in the sand with his dump truck - it is about 4.30 in the afternoon, and most of the beach was in shade, hence the no shirt ;0)

Connor loved playin in the waves at the shore - he was racing them up the beach in this pic!!

This photo was taken on the Pumicestone Passage side of the island - very pretty too!

We spent a few days in Ipswich, catching up with friends, (not all of our friends, sadly) and we also took Connor to the Ipswich Workshops Museum. Thomas was spending the holidays there, with the Fat Controller and a few of his train friends!!

Connor has been asking to go to a museum for a while, so while we were down in SEQ, we took him to the Qld Museum. It was fantastic fun!!
There was a "Dinosaur Dig" on and the kids could dig for dinosaurs, and do all sorts of fun activities to learn about dinosaurs!!!

I also managed to do some scrapping down there, so I'll come back later with some shares, just need to pop on some titles - couldn't take everything with me - LOL!

Let's Get Shabby

Here is my entry into this month's Let's Get Shabby challenge.
I used Cosmo Cricket Snorkel range - one of my all-time fave ranges, and one I thought of as soon as I saw the insperation.
Here is a close up of the little beach umbrella I made:

I really like the old fashioned pics on this paper, and this lady suited the whole thems....

Thanks for looking, I'll be back tomorrow with some photos of our holiday!!

Quick Shares

This is just a quick share. ATM I am on hols on Bribie Island in SE Qld - visiting the in-laws. We are having a lovely time - shopping, lunching and beaching - all the usual holiday activities!
Have you seen the new Basic Grey Origins Range? Talk about awesome - this is one layout I did using the goodies. Some pics of my boys exploring the rainforest in Eungella!

Here is a grungy layout I did last week when I went for a scrap day at Magical Memories. Jolene Pienaar at the Addicted to Craft blog challenged people to use a colour you don't normally use, and I found some papers with purple and blue - so purple was the colour I used, which normally I find difficult, but with the grungy look, it was fairly easy.
This layout was one I did for Anna's Craft Cupboard January Sketch Challenge. Wendy Smith did the sketch. I finished on time, but then didn't get around to uploading! D'oh!

This is one layout I have done using a Bon's Scraps Boy kit - very different style for me, but I didn't mind how it turned out.

Finally, here is my final layout for the Addicted to Craft 12 weeks of Christmas challenge. We had to use this gorgeous little soldier man in our layout, as well as MME papers. I was very excited when I checked in last night, and discovered I had won!! Yippeeee! The prizes have been awesome, so thank you ladies, for a fantastic competition!

Well, that's it for now, I hope to do some more scrapping tonight - so I might have some shares in a few days!

9 Favourites of 2009

The gorgeous Felicity - a DTer at Bons Scraps has challenged us to name 9 things we loved the most about 2009.
Thanks for the challenge, Flis, it really made think, and apprecitate the little things in life, as well as the big things. It also made me realise I have achieved a few goals this - much more than I thought!
Here are my 9 things, in no particular order

1. I finally got published - Vol 11, no 8 in Scrapbooking Memories - this was a goal of mine for 09, so I was thrilled when it actually happened!!

2. I became a DT member at ScrapbooknBits. It is truly an honour to work with such talented ladies, and the boss lady Karen is gorgeous - love this site to bits!

3. I have continued to be challenged in my role as Mummy to this gorgeous little boy - I wouldn't swap this for the world, and I love him more and more with each passing day.

4. I cherish the rare times I can spend with my family. Mum and Dad have continued to show unconditional love and support for me and my little family, and for this I am forever grateful.

5. My baby boy starting Kindergarten. I was sad, but also tremendously proud of this little man. He looked so grown up in his uniform.

6. Mother's Day 09 was a beautiful day. We went to the Mackay harbour for an early lunch - then to the Mackay Entertainment Centre for a Wiggles Concert!! To see the excitement and joy on Connor's little face made the day oh so special!!

7. I adore visiting this place. Cape Hillsborough - just a 30 minute drive North, and here we are! It's a gorgeous place for a picnic, and a walk along the beach.

8. After living in Mt Isa for 5 years, I am so grateful we live in Mackay - so many beautiful beaches just minutes from our home, and I love going to this one in particular - Eimeo Beach, so pretty, and a great place for kids with a patrolled beach, and a wonderful playground.

9. We went to the Sunshine Coast in January, and went to Australia Zoo. It was fantastic to see Bindi, Terri and Bob doing the show - and Connor was thrilled to bits. Such a lucky boy!!

Well, that's it for me at the moment. I have been scrapping - have done 5 layouts that I haven't shared yet. I'll be back tomorrow with them ;0)
Cheers!
